BMW Vehicle are equipped with a CD Changer plug, usually located on the drivers side of the trunk / cargo area. The Sound, Power, Control, and Text are all done from this single connection. If your vehicle currently has a 6 CD Changer, it will need to be disconnected to use this adapter. If your vehicle has navigation, it will continue to work normally.
Since the adapter allows full text and control on the factory radio display, many users choose to leave the iPod in the trunk and control it completely from the radio.
